Visiting the Shrine of Japanese Steel Making

Date

This article was written by “la Spada”.

Under overcast weather, the air was so misty. Yasha worshiped at the Grand Spring Festival of the iron god “Kanayago Shrine” in the Okuizumo region of Shimane prefecture, renewing his determination for the year. At the same time he conveyed his feelings of gratitude to “Kanayago-sama”, thanking for being involved in sword making.

On the approach to the shrine, antique “Tamahagane” excavated from this region was dedicated to the iron god, showing the deep faith of people lived in the ancient times.

Behind this shrine, there is a legendary place where “Kanayago-sama” descended: “Okumiya”, literally means “rear shrine”. It’s been one of his favorite places.
